Our Core Values

We at Mayday believe that we all deserve to live the best possible lives – even if age, illness or disability are reducing our ability to be completely self-sufficient.

As a provider of care services, domestic, personal, and social care and rehabilitation is at the core of Mayday’s services. The company will play an integral role of the overall network of services supporting each Service User, such as social workers, occupational therapists, district nurses, doctors and physiotherapists.

Our services range from a simple pop-in as a medication prompt, meal preparation, bathing, dressing and personal care. Mayday can provide a full service to those living alone with little or no family support. On the other hand, we may also provide services in order to give primary care givers such as family and friends a break.

Mayday is committed to an individualised, person centred philosophy of service delivery which is designed around the individual needs and choices of our service users.

We work in partnership with service users themselves, their families/carers and other agencies to:

  • Enable people to enjoy a valued and inclusive life.
  • Respect and uphold their rights and choices as equal citizens.
  • Ensure their privacy, dignity and respect.
  • Offer unconditional positive regard to promote self esteem.
  • Enable people to realise their dreams and to achieve their goals and aspirations.
  • Empower people to make positive changes in their lives.
  • Recognise and build upon their personal resources, strengths and abilities.
  • Gain confidence, life skills and independence.
  • Improve their physical & mental health and well-being.
  • Protect vulnerable people from harm and abuse.
  • Increase acceptance and understanding in their communities and assist them to make a positive contribution to these communities.
  • Provide opportunities for learning and self development.
  • Access fulfilling activities (work, education, leisure), social opportunities and relationships.
  • Provide equality of opportunity.
  • Ensure their safety, security and quality of life.

Our mission is to promote the independence, inclusion and well being of people with support needs. We do this by working with the people we support, their families and partner agencies to deliver innovative, high quality services that meet individual needs and aspirations in a person centred way. We also aim to provide the best value to purchasers and to use our resources in efficient, flexible and creative ways.

Our Aims and Objectives

Keymen Associates provides care to people who have been assessed as needing assistance to meet their social and personal care needs. We provide these supports in the service users’ own home at times that are suitable and convenient.

We recognise that for most service users the important people in our organisation are the care workers with whom the service user will have regular contact, therefore, we take great care in recruiting, training and supervising our staff. All staff have a wide range of qualifications and receive regular training throughout the year.

Our Principles:

  • Focus on service users. We aim to provide a service that is driven by the needs and aspirations of our service users by listening to them.
  • Fitness of purpose. We are committed to achieving our stated aims and objectives through reviewing our service. We welcome the feedback from our service users and their representatives.
  • Comprehensiveness. We aim to provide a package of care, working with other agencies, to meet the needs and preferences of our service users.
  • Meeting assessed needs. The care we provide is based on the thorough assessment of needs and the systematic and ongoing planning of care for each service user, made in conjunction with care managers and other health care professionals.
  • Quality Services: We are committed to providing a quality service and to continuous improvement of the care we provide in line with the Key Line of
  • Regulatory Assessment (KLORA) and as evaluated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Service Users Rights:

We place the rights of service users at the forefront of our philosophy of care and it is accepted practice for individuals to express and exercise their rights.

Privacy:

We strive to retain as much privacy as possible for our service users in the following ways:

  • Giving help to personal situations as discreetly as possible.
  • Guaranteeing service users privacy when using the telephone, opening & reading post and communicating with friends, relatives or advocates.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of information the agency holds about service users.
